FAQ’s
When should I arrive in Lagos?
The celebration will take place on August 1st, 2026. We recommend you arrive on or before July 31st.
Do I need a Visa?
Yes. Refer to the link for more information: Passport & Visa Information
Can we bring our children?
Our celebration isn’t adults-only. Children are welcome! We just ask that everyone attending, little ones included, be listed on your RSVP, as attendance is strictly by invitation. This helps us plan comfortably for all our guests.
What should I wear?
Our wedding will be a traditional celebration, and we’d love for guests to join in the spirit if they’d like! If you’re interested in wearing traditional attire, please indicate and we’ll help coordinate fabric, tailoring, and any other details. Of course, feel free to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and festive.
Where should I stay?
We recommend staying in Victoria Island or Lekki for convenience. You can choose from our hotel recommendations or book an Airbnb in either area. We recommend that you avoid booking directly online in U.S. dollars. Let us know your preference and we can help you reserve locally in naira to save on cost.
Will there be other events?
Yes! There will be a few pre-wedding and post-wedding moments to connect and celebrate. We’ll share the full schedule closer to the date.
Download this messaging app before traveling. This is the main app to communicate abroad. We will be using it for updates, directions, and more during the weekend—details to come closer to the date!
Wifi Everywhere
Most hotels, airports, and cafés offer free Wi-Fi, which makes it easy to message or call over apps like WhatsApp, iMessage, or FaceTime. Just make sure to enable Wi-Fi calling on your phone before your leave.
International Travel Plans
Contact your wireless provider to ensure you have coverage while you travel. With all providers there will be a daily Plan fee Verizon and AT&T have a $12/Day Plan.
eSim SIM cards
If you’re choosing to turn our celebration into a vacation and stay overseas for a few days to a week after, it’s recommended to get an eSIM card.
*Most eSIM plans don’t include traditional phone calls because they’re designed primarily as data-only services.*

How should I get around?
Rideshare services like Bolt or Uber are easy to use in Lagos. We can help coordinate airport pickups once RSVPs and flight information are confirmed.
Is it safe to travel to Lagos?
Yes, especially in Victoria Island and Lekki, where most visitors stay. As with any major city, be mindful of your surroundings and follow local advice. We’ll share additional travel tips before your trip.
What’s the weather like?
Lagos in August is warm and humid, usually in the mid-80s °F (around 30°C). Light, breathable fabrics are your best friend.
There are no blanket vaccine requirements for travelers coming directly from the U.S., but certain vaccines may be required depending on your route or recent travel history for example, proof of Yellow Fever vaccination if you’re arriving from or transiting through a country where yellow fever is present.
Since malaria is present in Nigeria, we recommend taking preventive medication and using mosquito protection such as repellent. The CDC also recommends that travelers be up to date on routine vaccines and consider Yellow Fever, Typhoid, and Hepatitis A & B.
Be sure to book your travel health appointment early—ideally 8–12 weeks before your trip—as clinics that offer free or low-cost vaccinations often fill up quickly.
